Urgent

Urgent care here is really urgent! Since the hubby had a slight fever again this morning and wasn’t feeling much better than yesterday, he took another personal day and went to the doctor this morning. We don’t have a regular physician other than the OB/GYN for me, so we had to go to quick care or urgent care which is a walk-in clinic. Most places with that type of clinic tend to be rather busy and not very quick or urgent when it comes to seeing patients. We were pleasantly surprised to walk in this morning and find only one other person waiting. Once the receptionist put their info into the computer, they were called back immediately. Same thing with the hubby… once he was entered in, the nurse came and called him into a room. It took only about 30 seconds after the nurse asked her questions and did the routine examination of blood pressure, heart rate and temperature before the doctor appeared. I would say we were in and out within 20 minutes! I have been so impressed with the heath care providers here so far and expecially the Carolinas Medical System.

  1. That is really good to hear. If you don’t mind me asking you are in NC or SC? I tried to figure that out from your initial posts at this location, but couldn’t find it on my immediate reading. When I lived in NC, I never had any problem with healthcare. I loved my primary, gyn, and even the urgent care center. I really miss that. Here in CA, it is a MESS.

  2. We live in NC and so far every place we’ve been to see a doctor from the OB/GYN to the emergency room to urgent care have been wonderful. I can imagine how much of a mess it is there in CA and it makes a big difference when you have good doctors and nurses taking care of you.

  3. Hope that the hubby is feeling better now. What was it the flu or upper respiratory infection (cold)?

  4. NC_State_gal, Thanks for asking about the hubs… he’s doing much better today. I think it was a cold with some sinus congestion. He’s back to work and hopefully feeling much better this weekend since we plan on going out of town.
